All of our dogs are AKC registered and good examples of the breed.  They are healthy, well loved and cared for.  WE ARE NOT A PUPPY MILL.  We breed to improve the breed.  We will not always have a puppy when you want one.  But, we will always be there to help you if you do acquire a puppy or dog from us

July22013 075.jpg

We raise pure bred Anatolian Shepherds that are registered with the AKC and both come from champion Anatolian Shepherd show dogs . Our female Anatolian Shepherd  Lucky Hit Bria Sessiz Arcadia, registration # WS3601612. Our male Anatolian Shepherd Chagatai Khan, registration # WS39987703.

Our Anatolian Shepherds are raised with goats and trained to protect our investment.  We have never lost stock to a predator and as you know they are out there.  If you have ever seen what predators do to kids you want protection.  We offer what you need.

Recently we have added our AKC/ASDCA Anatolian Shepherds to our Boer  Goat operation and couldn’t be any happier. We currently have a dual registered AKC/ASDCA Female (Bellina) that is 19 months and a Male (Deebo) that is 16 months old. These two dogs are doing outstanding and have already been  free roaming with the goats on 25 acres.

Most Anatolian pups are trained in guarding livestock by the older guardians. These two pups have simply relied on pure guardian instinct and methods I’ve practiced from raising livestock guardians. Both of these two dogs parents are in fact livestock guardians which is a must when purchasing guardian pups. Prior to purchasing these dogs we lost three kids and have not had a single loss since. Keep in mind these dogs are guarding from four legged predators and two legged predators as well. Bellina will be getting bred on her next cycle to an ELITE STUD, so stay posted for an upcoming litter.

My husband and I are quite fond of large dogs and wanted a breed that would be easy to care for and train. We also wanted to choose a breed that did not have a strong prey-drive. Prey-drives include the instinctive drives that enable most herding and gun dog breeds (most of the breeds in the United States) to excel in the tasks for which they were originally developed. Prey drives are actually stalking and predatory instincts that can usually be shaped for chasing, retrieving and doing other such things on command. Unfortunately, predatory behavior around livestock is generally undesireable. Even a herding dog must allow its predatory chase instincts to be controlled. It makes little sense to keep a predatory animal when there are choices among breeds that can be safely kept with livestock without chasing and killing these other animals.

Our Anatolians have been chosen for their temperament, health, structure and working ability. Anatolians are loyal, brave and very intelligent. They are our companions and guardians. Anatolians make wonderful family members and devoted pets provided they are raised and socialized properly.

If you are looking for a new breed or have done your research and want an Anatolian – we would be delighted to talk with you. Our goal is to make sure people succeed with their puppies and dogs, whether purchased for a pet, show prospect or livestock guardian. With Skyview Anatolians, you will get the help, advice and training support you need. Anatolians, like other guardian breeds, are different from your common dog breeds such as Labradors, Goldens and German Shepherds. Once you own an Anatolian, the other breeds just won’t do.

We have always had an issue with stray dogs and coyotes being abundant in our area, but as the size and quality of our Nubian Dairy Goat herd grew, we knew that we had to provide them with some protection and give ourselves some peace of mind. After much research we chose to purchase our very first Anatolian Shepherd to be a Livestock Guardian Dog also known as a LGD. The Anatolian Shepherd is an old breed that originated in Central Turkey. They are large in size weighing between 90 – 150 lbs and they stand 28″ plus at the withers. They are strong, intelligent and independent being bred with great protection instincts. Anatolians are a working dog without equal, they display a calm and loving side around the animals that they protect, as well as, the family and children they are accustomed to. When the time arises to be on alert, they don’t back down and are forceful when needed. This breed is well known for its independent thinking and they always seem to know the proper action for the any situation.

We live in the beautiful hills of East Cadiz, We have about nineteen acres. We have four Children and nine Grandchildren, They are Gods greatest gifts to me!

My husband is a Hoof Trimmer for Cattle so that leaves me with a lot of time on my hands when I’m at home. I am a born caregiver so with no children to take care of I had to take care of something else. We have a huge garden and do lots of canning with lots of produce to sell but we usually give it all away, About three years ago we started out with four Nubian does that we got from a friend of ours that has Registered Nubian show goats. They are the sweetest and I think one of the smartest animals that God created. I fell instantly in love with them and was sure they loved me to but I think it was the feed they loved the most, I was just the one that fed them. I love sitting with them in the field with them laying beside me when the weather is just right with a nice breeze. It was wonderful after having cows and horses that if something got out you did not have to chase it over the whole County to get it back in. All I do is walk outside and they all come running to me and we walk right back in the barn.

They are really nice also and I find I tend to spoil everything, I keep plenty of peanuts and animal crackers in the barn, I was really surprised that they like puppy bones, It’s a lot of fun and the adventure continues.
